ABOUT THE HOST

Mandated by the former Tourism and Industrial Development Company of Trinidad and Tobago (TIDCO), The Trinidad and Tobago Tour Guides’ Association (TTTGA) was established in October 1997.  The Association under Trade Union regulations has the vision of standardising the service of our local Tour Guides as well as the information being disseminated, thereby increasing their professionalism and, by extension, uplifting the nation’s tourism product.

ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE

We go to Cedros where we meet our community Guide who takes us on a tour of the village. after tour we go to the home of Rupa Maharaj, who is going to demonstrate to us the making of Coconut oil. Here you can purchase your different type of Coconut oils, (eg. Virgin, Compressed etc.) from there we go to the community centre for lunch. After lunch we head to Icacos passing though the most beautiful wetlands you have ever seen. Down there we see the remains of one of the largest Coconut Estates in the Caribbean. Here is where we will meet one of our local authors Mr. Michael Cozier. After listening to some of his excerpts from his books, you can purchase any of his books.
