ABOUT THE HOST
Mandated by the former Tourism and Industrial Development Company of Trinidad and Tobago (TIDCO), The Trinidad and Tobago Tour Guides’ Association (TTTGA) was established in October 1997. The Association under Trade Union regulations has the vision of standardising the service of our local Tour Guides as well as the information being disseminated, thereby increasing their professionalism and, by extension, uplifting the nation’s tourism product.
ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE
House of Angostura -Tour and Taste. Angostura is Trinidad and Tobago premier rum distillers and makers of the famous Angostura Bitters. Tour their rum making/bottling facilities. You will have the opportunity to meet either their Master Distiller or Chief Mixologist. Later you can stop by their company store for purchases of Angostura products. Our second stop the Caroni Bird Sanctuary for a 4PM guided tour by boat through the Caroni Swamp, the second largest mangrove wetlands in Trinidad and home to our national bird, the Scarlet Ibis. Witness the return of the Scarlet Ibis at sunset as they roost in the surrounding mangrove.
